OTTAWA - For a fourth year, His Excellency Jean-Daniel Lafond will serve as honorary patron of Cuvée Weekend, a celebration of the best of Ontario's wine. He will deliver remarks at the awards gala ceremony Friday February 19, 2010, at 6:30 p.m., at the Fallsview Casino Resort in Niagara Falls.
Mr. Lafond will visit the Niagara region to meet with wine producers, chefs, sommeliers and experts in the industry on the importance of food and wine as an integral part of Canada's cultural diversity and identity.
Cuvée Weekend is one of several events that help Rideau Hall to discover the best Canadian foods and wines it can offer on the nation's table at ceremonies, receptions and other activities in both official residences.
