(No. 62 - February 11, 2010 - 11:45 a.m. ET) The Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today announced the reappointment of Vikram Khurana to the Board of Directors of the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada.
“Mr. Khurana is a valued member of the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada Board,” said Minister Cannon. “His knowledge in areas such as business and economic development is a great asset.”
“The Asia Pacific Foundation is a critical partner for the Asia-Pacific Gateway and Corridor Initiative in our attempt to make Canada the most competitive exit and entry point in North America for Asian goods, services and investments,” said the Honourable Stockwell Day, President of the Treasury Board and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway. “It connects expert Asia-Pacific researchers across Canada, and supports policy development and informed discussion on Canada’s relations with Asia.”
The Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada is an independent, not-for-profit think tank focused on Canada’s relations with Asia. The Foundation brings together people and knowledge to provide the most current and comprehensive research, analysis and information on Canada’s trans-Pacific relations. It promotes dialogue on economic, security, political and social issues, helping to influence public policy and foster informed decision making in Canadian public, private and non-governmental sectors.
Created in 1984 by an act of Parliament, the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada is funded by the governments of Canada and British Columbia.

Vikram Khurana (MBA, St. Mary’s University) is the founder and CEO of Prudential Consulting Inc., a Toronto-based information technology company. He has founded many businesses, including Leading Systems Consultants and Prudential Chem Inc. Mr. Khurana is also a member of the board of the Technical Standards and Safety Authority.
