Prime Minister Stephen Harper made the following statement today in a video greeting for a community celebration in Rosemère, Quebec, honouring Alexandre Bilodeau:
“Alexandre, on February 14, 2010, you entered the history books. You finally gave Canada its first Olympic gold medal on Canadian soil. Alexandre, your performance was breathtaking. You are a great athlete. You are a great brother. You are a great Canadian. All of Canada is extremely proud of you!
“Congratulations again! And have a great day with your family and friends!”
