OTTAWA – Media representatives are invited to attend the official presentation of the Canadian Forces Medallion for Distinguished Service to the Ottawa Hospital. Commodore Hans Jung, the Canadian Forces Surgeon General, will present the award to Dr. Jack Kitts, President and CEO of the Ottawa Hospital, on behalf of the Chief of the Defence Staff.

The Canadian Forces Medallion for Distinguished Service is awarded by the Chief of the Defence Staff on behalf of the Canadian Forces to recognize outstanding service performed by persons (or organizations) outside the active military community. It is awarded for service of a rare and exceptionally high standard, which accrues great benefit to the CF as a whole.
