QUÉBEC – Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Quebec Region, has released a list of Gaspé and Lower St. Lawrence Area fishers fined by Judge Luc Marchildon in April 2010 for various violations of the Fisheries Act
A total of $6,100 in fines was imposed, in addition to a prohibition against being within 200 m of the shore of any area closed to fishing, except to travel on public roads, for a period of 36 months. The offenders are:
The Department has a mandate to protect and conserve fishery resources and is ever vigilant in its efforts to prevent poaching of marine resources.
