"I am thrilled that the Government of Canada continues to offer support for community celebrations such as this one," said Mr. Calandra. "These events enrich the lives of everyone involved and help create new friendships."
"The Markham Village Music Festival is most appreciative of the support given by the Government of Canada," said Ardy Reid, Director of the Markham Village Festival Corporation. "With this support, our event can grow, and that expansion will generate an even stronger sense of community and awareness here in Markham."
The Government of Canada has provided funding of $20,100 through the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program of the Department of Canadian Heritage. This program provides Canadians with more opportunities to take part in activities that present local arts and culture and celebrate local history and heritage.
