Montréal, Quebec, June 16, 2010 – The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of State for Canada Economic Development, is pleased to announce that Object Research Systems (ORS) has been awarded $200,000 in repayable funding through the Business and Regional Growth program to market and export the ORS Visual 1.5, a software application intended for use in the healthcare sector.
“The Government of Canada supports innovative firms that are looking to break in to foreign markets. These efforts help lay the foundations for sustainable economic prosperity in Canada. Requiring an investment of more than $1.2 million, this Object Research Systems project will lead to the creation of four new jobs. This initiative will enable the company to become a major provider of advanced visualization solutions within the high-tech imagery sector and thereby consolidate Canada’s worldwide reputation as a breeding ground for innovation,” explained the Minister of State.
The Montréal-based enterprise has developed a virtual imaging platform that allows for the reconstruction of 2D, 3D and 4D images from digital image data to help healthcare specialists make quicker, real-time diagnoses. The firm is looking to commercialize its products in promising healthcare markets, most notably in the United States, France and Japan.
To that end, ORS intends to equip itself with promotional tools, take part in trade shows and meet with prospective customers in these target markets. These activities should result in an increase in sales and consequently help Object Research Systems continue focusing on the development of innovative new products to secure its growth.
