(Gatineau, Quebec, June 1, 2010) – The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) today released its final investigation report (A08W0007) into the January 10, 2008 encounter with wake turbulence involving the Air Canada Airbus A319 operating as flight ACA190.
ACA190 was en route from Victoria, British Columbia, to Toronto, Ontario, with 83 passengers and 5 crew members. At 0648 Pacific standard time, a series of jolts were felt in ACA190, followed by a series of rolls. The crew declared an emergency and diverted the flight to Calgary International Airport, Alberta, where it landed uneventfully at 0728. Several passengers and crew members were injured.
