QUÉBEC – Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Quebec Region, has released a list of Gaspé and Lower St. Lawrence fishers fined by Judge Luc Marchildon in May and June 2010 for various violations of the Fisheries Act.
The total amount of the fines imposed is $37,600, plus a forfeiture of the proceeds of the sale in the amount of $6,954. The offenders are:
The Department has a mandate to protect and conserve fishery resources. It is ever-vigilant in its efforts to prevent poaching of marine resources.
