Innovation is the centerpiece of an announcement today in Miramichi featuring federal government support for K.C. Sargent Sales Ltd. as the New Brunswick company brings to market new recycling technology that will improve the efficiency of processing recycled beverage containers.
“Our Government’s investment of $113,183 will help K.C. Sargent Sales Ltd. to develop markets for its innovative portable compactor,” said the Honourable Keith Ashfield, Minister of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, Minister for the Atlantic Gateway and Minister of National Revenue. “Indeed, our objective, through ACOA, is to get more of the region’s cutting edge R&D into the marketplace, boosts business productivity, increases exports and creates good-paying jobs and overall economic growth. It’s about good science, smart business and a great investment in the future of Atlantic Canada.”
K.C. Sargent Sales Ltd. from Miramichi has designed and patented the Enviropactor to improve the efficiency in transporting used beverage containers collected at deposit and refund program redemption centers. The machine increases the truck payloads capacity by up to a 400%. The current model is now ready for commercialization.
