Rodney Weston, MP for Saint John, joined officials at Encore Interactive Inc. today to announce funding for the company’s development of innovative software targeting the delivery of Internet Protocol Television services by the telecommunications sector.
Mr. Weston made the announcement on behalf of the Honourable Keith Ashfield, Minister of National Revenue, Minister of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency and Minister for the Atlantic Gateway.
“Our Government, through ACOA, is investing over $247,000 to help Encore Interactive bring its innovative IPTV software to market,” said MP Weston. “Our commitment will help the company to strengthen its R&D capacity, sustain skilled jobs and open up new markets.”
Encore Interactive, a Saint John company established in 2007, provides products and professional services to the information and communication technology (ICT) sector. Its area of expertise is Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) services. This project will help Encore Interactive to commercialize two new innovative software products.
“ACOA focus on innovation is designed to get more of the region’s cutting edge R&D into the marketplace, boost business productivity and bottom lines, increase exports, and creates good-paying jobs and overall economic growth,” said MP Weston. “It’s all about good science, smart business and a great investment in the future of Atlantic Canada.”

The Government of Canada, through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), is investing over $247,000 toward the development of two key products: Encore Media Gateway and Encore Live Everywhere High Speed Internet Edition.
