CALGARY, July 5, 2010 — The Joint Review Panel (the Panel) conducting the review of the proposed Enbridge Northern Gateway Project has issued Procedural Direction, asking people interested in the project to comment on specific issues related to the application and the hearing process.
The Procedural Direction asks people to comment on:
- a draft List of Issues (included in the Procedural Direction);
- additional information which Northern Gateway should be required to file; and
- location(s) for the oral hearing.s
The Panel would like to hear comments on these topics prior to the issuance of a Hearing Order, which would outline the participation options and the procedural process for this Panel review.
As outlined in the Procedural Direction, comments can be shared with the Panel in writing or in person at an upcoming Panel session. The Panel encourages written comments. A form for submitting comments can be found on the Panel’s website at www.gatewaypanel.review-examen.gc.ca or attached to the Procedural Direction. Written comments must be received no later than noon Mountain Daylight Time on Wednesday, 8 September 2010. All comments will be posted on the public registry. Comments can be sent to:

The proposed project involves the construction of two 1,170 kilometre long pipelines running between Bruderheim, Alberta and Kitimat, British Columbia and the construction and operation of the Kitimat Marine Terminal, together with all related facilities and works.
The Joint Review Panel for the Enbridge Northern Gateway Project is an independent body, mandated by the Minister of the Environment and the National Energy Board. The Panel will assess the environmental effects of the proposed project and review the application under both the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act and the National Energy Board Act.
