GATINEAU, Quebec, July 2, 2010 - Public Works and Government Services Canada wishes to advise the public that the west sidewalk of the Macdonald-Cartier Bridge will be closed from 7:00 a.m. on Monday, July 5, until 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 9. Pedestrians and cyclists will be asked to use the east sidewalk to cross the bridge.
Furthermore, the Ottawa-bound traffic lane of the Macdonald-Cartier Bridge immediately adjacent to the west sidewalk will be closed, as required, over the same week, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
The schedule may change due to inclement weather.
These closures are necessary to conduct general maintenance on the bridge and its west sidewalk.
Public Works and Government Services Canada apologizes for any inconvenience these closures may cause.
