Québec, Québec, August 18, 2010 – The Canada Pavilion, the Government of Canada’s travelling exhibit, will be featured at Expo Québec from August 18-29, 2010 at the Centre de foires in Québec City.
“The Government of Canada is pleased to bring the Canada Pavilion to Expo Québec this year,” said the Honourable Rona Ambrose, Minister of Public Works and Government Services and Minister for Status of Women. “Our government is proud to offer the opportunity for Canadians and visitors to learn more about government priorities and the programs and services available to them.”
The Canada Pavilion participates in various events across the country—travelling to each province once a year. It allows Canadians to meet face-to-face with Government of Canada representatives in an inviting, interactive and informative environment. The Canada Pavilion has won numerous prizes since its creation in 2000 and has welcomed several million visitors.
The theme of this year’s Pavilion is Canada’s biodiversity, recognizing that 2010 is the International Year of Biodiversity. Visitors will be able to learn more about programs and services related to biodiversity and participate in several interactive games. They will also be able to express their opinions on Canada’s uniqueness at the National Capital Commission’s exhibit.
Several government departments and agencies will be present at Expo Québec, including Agriculture and Agri-food Canada, which will be promoting its programs through the use of an interactive digital display, videos and corporate publications. Other departments include Canada Revenue Agency, Service Canada, the National Capital Commission, and Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
