GATINEAU, QUEBEC, August 16, 2010 – Public Works and Government Services Canada wishes to advise the public that the east sidewalk of the Macdonald-Cartier Bridge will be closed from 7:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 17 through to 6:00 p.m. Friday, August 20. Pedestrians and cyclists will be asked to use the west sidewalk to cross the bridge.
The Gatineau-bound traffic lane of the Macdonald-Cartier Bridge immediately adjacent to the east sidewalk will also be closed from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the workdays mentioned above.
The schedule may change due to inclement weather.
This sidewalk closure and these lane reductions are necessary to conduct general maintenance on the bridge. Public Works and Government Services Canada apologizes for any inconvenience they may cause.
