OTTAWA - August 3, 2010 - On Friday July 30, 2010, members of the Yukon RCMP located the body of RCMP Constable (Cst.) Michael Potvin who had been missing since July 13, 2010, after the police boat in which he was a passenger capsized in the Stewart River. RCMP Cst. Michael Potvin was posted at the Mayo detachment (Yukon) and was a new member of the RCMP family, having graduated from Depot just last year.
A memorial service for RCMP Cst. Michael Potvin will be held in Ottawa on Wednesday, August 4, 2010.
- Where: Saint Patrick’s Basilica, 220 Kent Street, Ottawa
- When: Wednesday, August 4th, 9:30 a.m.
At the family’s request, media will not be permitted inside the Basilica.
While members of the public will be able to attend the memorial service for Cst. Potvin, seating will be limited.
A private funeral service and interment will take place at a later date.
