Constructing new defence infrastructure is in line with the Canada First Defence Strategy, which sets a detailed road map for the modernization of the Canadian Forces. New infrastructure will help replace dated defence infrastructure and support a first-class, modern military that is ready to take on the challenges of the 21st century.
Health Services Centre
The new health services centre will address the existing shortfall in facility requirements for medical, dental, and mental health care at 14 Wing Greewood. This project will deliver a two storey, 4,473 m health services centre at 14 Wing Greenwood. This project will also include the demolition of the existing health care facility. The new centre will provide direct, comprehensive mental health services, medical, and dental care to the Wing population, increasing the quality of health services currently being offered at the existing health services centre.
The Government of Canada has awarded a $13.4 million construction contract to Pomerleau Inc., of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia for the facility’s construction.
Overall project value (including taxes): approximately $25.4 million
