OTTAWA, September 27, 2010 - The Canadian Sport Centre-Pacific (CSC Pacific) is creating a culture of excellence and offering unparalleled opportunities for generations of athletes to come.
The CSC Pacific will ensure that Canadian athletes training on the Pacific coast continue to have the support they need to train and compete internationally and to continue to make Canada a leading sport nation.
The Centre will provide our athletes with an ideal environment to develop, and our Government is proud to invest in it. Our contribution to the CSC Pacific is part of our ongoing commitment to reinforce participation in sport by all Canadians, in our communities and at the highest level. We are very pleased to support a centre that will help provide our athletes with state-of-the-art training facilities, cutting-edge services, research in sport, and much more.
On behalf of Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the Government of Canada, I want to commend everyone involved in this wonderful initiative and to thank the Government of British Columbia for its participation. Together, we're helping to enhance a vital part of Canada's sport system.
