Gatineau, Quebec, Tuesday, October 12, 2010 – Public Works and Government Services Canada wishes to advise motorists that the Alexandra Bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic from 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 12, until 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 13.
This closure will not affect pedestrians.
This closure is necessary for the paving of the bridge and the access road. This is part of the planned rehabilitation of the Alexandra Bridge announced by the Government of Canada under its Economic Action Plan. Upon completion of paving operations, both traffic lanes on the bridge will be reopened to vehicular traffic.
The schedule may change due to weather conditions. If paving can't be done on Tuesday, it will be rescheduled for Wednesday.
