Canada's international transactions in securities, August 2010
Non-residents purchased $11.1 billion of Canadian securities in August with the majority of the investment going to corporate and government business enterprise bonds. Meanwhile, Canadians acquired $3.4 billion of foreign securities, led by foreign stocks.
Investment in non-residential building construction, third quarter 2010
Investment in non-residential building construction reached $10.4 billion in the third quarter, a 2.9% increase from the second quarter and the third consecutive quarterly gain. The increase was mainly the result of higher spending on commercial and industrial buildings.
