OTTAWA-Their Excellencies the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, and Mrs. Sharon Johnson are pleased to present, in collaboration with the Glenn Gould Foundation, an evening concert entitled, Young Artists Inspired by Glenn Gould. This exclusive concert will feature eight emerging musicians from Canada and abroad who will perform at Rideau Hall, on Friday, December 3, 2010, at 7 p.m.
The two-hour concert is a tribute to the late Glenn Gould, one of Canada's most iconic musicians of the 20th century. The evening's performances will feature a program of Bach, Wagner, Strauss, Brahms, Beethoven and Ravel, as interpreted or arranged by Gould. The young artists taking the stage range in age from nine to 25 years old:

KaJeng Wong, Piano – Hong Kong
Wallis Giunta, Mezzo-soprano – Canada
Miguel Ángel Cegarra, Cello – Venezuela
Marika Bournaki, Piano – Canada
Tina Chong, Piano – Canada
Mehdi Ghazi, Piano – Algeria
Georgy Tchaizde, Piano – Russia
