"On behalf of all Canadians, Laureen and I offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Senator Keith Davey who passed away today after a prolonged battle with Alzheimer's disease.

"He was appointed an Officer to the Order of Canada in 1999.
"Senator Davey served Canadians and his country for decades with dedication and drive."
