OTTAWA– The Canadian Forces (CF) today released statistics on individuals detained by the CF in Afghanistan in 2009.
The Canadian Forces announced in September 2010, that following a review of Afghanistan mission related activities and information management practices, information related to the number of individuals detained by the CF in Afghanistan no longer pose an immediate threat to current or recent operations, if this information is released on an annual basis, once per calendar year, after being held for a period of twelve months.
The annual statistics being released today include number of persons detained, released by the CF, transferred and deceased for the 2009 calendar year.
