Kingston, Ontario, Friday, March 25, 2011 – Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) will be conducting regular maintenance work on the LaSalle Causeway Bascule Lift Bridge on Sunday, March 27, 2011.
The bridge will be restricted to single lane, alternating direction traffic on Sunday, March 27 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The under roadway structure will be cleaned using a vacuum system. Those in close proximity to the bridge will experience loud noise during this time.
If weather or site conditions prevent the completion of work during the above timeframe, the work will be rescheduled as conditions permit.
Safety is a top priority for PWGSC and we are committed to ensuring the integrity of the bridges we manage. We apologize for any inconvenience the lane restrictions may cause and thank everyone for their continuing cooperation and understanding.
