Québec, Quebec, August 24, 2011 – The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, today announces the awarding of $75,000 in repayable funding to the firm De Marque Inc. to implement a commercialization strategy on markets abroad in order to position its technology solutions favourably in the booming industry of digital books.
“The Government of Canada is proud to support dynamic enterprises whose projects stimulate their capacity for innovation. De Marque Inc. is one such enterprise. This SME has developed a marketing strategy that will contribute to its growth,” said Minister Lebel.
Founded in 1990, De Marque Inc. ranks among the top SMEs worldwide in the development of platforms dedicated to digital content. Its products, including its Typing Pal keyboard typing tutorial, are world recognized. Thanks to the contribution from Canada Economic Development, De Marque Inc. will be able to strategically plan the marketing of its e-book warehouse and distribution technology solutions, in particular with European publishers.
The funding announced today has been awarded through the Business and Regional Growth program, which is designed to reinforce the conditions conducive to the sustainable growth of Quebec’s regions and SMEs. It supports business startups and seeks to help them improve their performance, become more competitive and engage in more innovation. It also supports the transfer of technology and research outputs to enterprises as well as the development of new markets.
