GATINEAU, Quebec, September 6, 2011 – Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) wishes to advise motorists of the following lane closures on the Alexandra Bridge:
- From 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7, until 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 8, the Gatineau-bound (northbound) lane will be closed to vehicular traffic. This lane closure will not affect pedestrians.
- From 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 8, until 5:00 a.m. on Friday, September 9, the Ottawa-bound (southbound) lane will be closed to vehicular traffic. Pedestrians may experience some delays.
Motorists will therefore be asked to use either the Portage Bridge or the Macdonald-Cartier Bridge to travel to either Gatineau or Ottawa.
The schedule may change due to inclement weather.
These lane closures are necessary to conduct general maintenance on the bridge.
