A Saint-Joseph company, G.C. Welding Inc., was in the spotlight last night as its owner, Mr. Jason Clavette, was named Madawaska’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year. Mr. Clavette was awarded the top title by Community Business Development Corporation (CBDC) Madawaska during its 10th edition of Soirée Méritas, a gala event that highlights the achievements of young entrepreneurs in the region.
“Congratulations to Mr. Clavette and his entire team at G.C. Welding Inc. for their tremendous contribution to the local economy,” said the Honourable Bernard Valcourt, Minister of State for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) and La Francophonie and MP for Madawaska- Restigouche. “The Government of Canada recognizes that thriving small and medium-sized businesses are the backbone of a strong economy across this country, and we are committed to providing the support needed to ensure our young entrepreneurs can continue to innovate and grow.”
ACOA supports CBDC Madawaska in the delivery of its programming to young entrepreneurs through the Agency’s Young Entrepreneur Development Initiative.
The 31-year-old Clavette was recognized for his commitment to continuous learning and employee engagement. Thanks to Clavette’s efforts, his company has effectively kept up with new trends, while improving its productivity. The family-owned company, in operation since 1981, specializes in structural steel welding and installation.
