Terrebonne, Quebec, October 17, 2011 – The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that Cidrerie Solar Inc. has been awarded $200,000 in repayable funding for the acquisition of equipment that will help the firm improve its production capabilities.
"This support is one more example of the Government of Canada's commitment to help small and medium-sized enterprises that, like Cidrerie Solar Inc., are making an effort to create jobs and become more competitive," said Minister Lebel.
This rapidly growing SME specializes in the manufacture and bottling of alcoholic beverages. Acquisition of a complete bottling line and three new fermenting vats will allow it to increase its productivity, thereby ensuring its future sustainability and growth. The new equipment will provide a capacity that should also allow the enterprise to roll out a first international commercialization strategy.
This financial assistance has been awarded through Canada Economic Development’s Business and Regional growth program. Cidrerie Solar Inc. will help strengthen and stimulate the growth of the bio-food sector, a priority for Lanaudière.
