Prime Minister Stephen Harper spoke this morning with German Chancellor Angela Merkel as they both prepare for the upcoming G-20 Summit in Cannes. The two leaders exchanged views on the current challenges to economic stability and growth, both in the Eurozone and globally, and the actions required to address them.
Prime Minister Harper stressed that achieving solid outcomes in Cannes and remaining accountable for past G-20 commitments is essential.
He emphasized that Canada was delivering on its debt and deficit-reduction commitments and focused on creating employment.
