Mr. Snowshoe has extensive experience participating on boards created as a result of land claim settlements in the Northwest Territories.
For more than ten years, Charlie Snowshoe was a member of the Mackenzie Valley Impact Review Board. He also served as Vice Chair of the Gwich'in Land Use Planning Board and was a representative on the Tetlit Gwich'in Renewable Resources Council.
Mr. Snowshoe was also involved in the negotiations of the Porcupine Caribou Management Agreement and the land claims of the Dene Metis and Gwich'in. He sat on the Board of the Western Arctic Visitors' Association and has been a Band Counsellor and Mayor of the Hamlet of Fort McPherson.
Ms. Allen has extensive work experience in the public sector in the area of modern treaty negotiation and implementation. Ms. Allen has negotiated agreements related to comprehensive land claims, financial matters and implementation plans in the Northwest Territories as well as British Columbia.
Ms. Allen has held positions of leadership in the Northwest Territories. She served as a Yellowknife Dene First Nation Band Councillor in 2001-2003 and was a past Chair of the City of Yellowknife Heritage Committee. Ms. Allen also worked at the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre as an Ethnomusicologist focussing on Dene music research.
Ms. Allen holds a Masters Degree in Canadian and Native Studies, Ms. Allen also has an educational background in native legal studies, conflict resolution, business administration and classical studies.
Mr. Charlie has a wealth of work experience in the area of natural resources. For over ten years, he has worked for Environmental and Natural Resources in Fort McPherson, Northwest Territories. He currently sits on the Tetlit Gwich'in Council as a Councillor.
Mr. Charlie has an educational background in natural resource technology. In his spare time, Mr. Charlie is avid hunter and trappe
