Val-d’Or, Quebec, November 15, 2011 – The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that Multilab Direct has been granted financial assistance for the acquisition of specialized equipment that will enable the firm to broaden the range of services it offers and become more competitive.
“The Government of Canada is committed to supporting enterprises that, like Multilab Direct, are doing everything they can to improve their competitiveness and, in so doing, are helping strengthen the leading-edge expertise developed in their regions,” said Minister Lebel.
Multilab Direct provides environmental laboratory analysis services to large enterprises in the natural resources sectors (forestry, mining, agriculture), as well as to municipalities and private-sector companies. These chemical and microbiological analysis services range from metals testing to coliform and E. coli bacterial analysis.
This financial assistance will serve for the acquisition of new equipment that will enable the firm to better respond to the growing demand for these services, particularly among large mining corporations. Multilab Direct will thus be able to offer new services, including petroleum hydrocarbon analysis.
