All people deserve to live a life free of violence and danger. Unfortunately, millions of women are living lives under violence and threats of violence.
Without the elimination of this horrible reality and assurance of safety, we will never fulfil women's rights.
As the Minister of International Cooperation, I see first-hand the power of women to bring a better life to their children, families and communities.
The Government of Canada is committed to making sure that our international assistance responds to the needs and priorities of women, including the elimination of violence.
