In June 2011, the Government of Canada announced the Kanishka Project, a new $10 million initiative to invest, over five years, in research on pressing questions for Canada related to terrorism and counter-terrorism. As part of this initiative, Public Safety Canada will invest up to $3.7 million to support, in full or in part, with SSHRC, research and related activities addressing issues identified by the Kanishka Project.
Researchers applying to the February 2012 competitions of SSHRC’s Insight Development Grants and Partnership Grants Letter of Intent and who wish to be considered for funding through the Kanishka Project must inform SSHRC of this wish by email at partnershipgrants@sshrc-crsh.gc.ca by February 17, 2012. In the email, applicants must clearly indicate their name, their affiliation, and the name of the SSHRC funding opportunity to which they have applied or will apply.
Complete details on the Kanishka Project are available on the Public Safety Canada website.
