Ottawa, Ontario, March 6, 2012... The Honourable Gail Shea, Minister of National Revenue, announced today the appointment of Mr. Robert M. Manning to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) Board of Management. Mr. Manning was nominated by the Province of New Brunswick.
"As a seasoned business professional with experience in the sectors of telecommunications, engineering, government and energy, Mr. Manning will be a valuable addition to the CRA Board of Management" said Minister Shea. "Mr. Manning's experience, in large multi-nationals and regional technology firms where he established business relationships around the globe, will further strengthen the Board and benefit the Agency overall".
While the Minister of National Revenue retains full accountability to Parliament and to Canadian citizens for all CRA activities, the Board of Management is responsible for overseeing the organization and administration of the Agency and the management of its resources, services, property, personnel, and contracts. The Board brings a forward-looking, strategic perspective to the CRA's operations and fosters sound management to support the CRA ongoing success.
