March 6, 2012 - Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird will travel to Burma on March 8, 2012. This will be the first official visit to that country by a Canadian foreign minister.
In Naypyidaw, Baird will meet with President Thein Sein and other senior government leaders.
Baird will also travel to Yangon to meet with Aung San Suu Kyi, General Secretary of the National League for Democracy.
