Saguenay, Quebec, March 28, 2012 — The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that the Trans-Al Network has been granted funding to pursue its networking mission in the aluminium sector.
“The Government of Canada supports organizations that, like the Trans-A Network, are working to promote innovative projects that are centred on sustainable development and help build economic growth,”
says Minister Lebel.
Established in 1997, the Trans-Al Network is a business network for Quebec enterprises operating in the aluminium transformation sector. As an essential partner in the industry, the network assists member-companies in their efforts to develop technical and technological expertise and facilitates a constructive dynamic within the sector. It also serves as an effective forum for the exchange of ideas and information among its 230 or so members and various partners.
The organization will also use this federal funding to help finance enterprises looking to benefit from the NRC Aluminium Technology Centre’s Access to Technology Project, update the information in the 2006 Canadian Aluminium Transformation Technology Roadmap, and carry out its strategic planning exercise for 2013-2016.
This financial assistance, granted in the form of a $369,939 non-repayable contribution, has been awarded through Canada Economic Development’s Business and Regional Growth program.
