SUDBURY — On Friday, March 23, the Honourable Joe Oliver, Minister of Natural Resources, will travel to Sudbury to meet with various mining-related stakeholders. During his visit, he will deliver an address to the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce at their President’s Series Luncheon.
The Minister will be discussing the importance of the mining sector to the Canadian economy. He will be available to the media following his address.
Minister Oliver will also visit the Vale Living with Lakes Centre, which houses research to develop more effective strategies to speed the recovery process of industrially damaged ecosystems. He will end his day by touring the Xstrata Nickel-Nickel Rim South mine, one of two Xstrata Nickel mines in the Sudbury area that produce nickel, copper and precious metals.
A photo opportunity will be held at both locations.
