OTTAWA – March 26, 2012 - The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the Agency) invites the public to comment on the Comprehensive Study Report for the Route 167 North Project in the Direction of the Otish Mountains located in Quebec.
The Comprehensive Study Report includes the Agency’s conclusions and recommendations regarding the predicted adverse environmental effects of the project, the significance of these effects and appropriate measures to mitigate any significant adverse environmental effects.
After this public comment period, the Minister of the Environment will take into consideration the Comprehensive Study Report along with comments received and issue an environmental assessment decision statement.
The Comprehensive Study Report is available on the Agency’s website (registry reference number 10-03-54435). The document is also available in paper copy, by request, or can be viewed at one of the following locations:

Written comments in either official language must be sent by April 25, 2012.

The Quebec Department of Transportation is proposing to extend Route 167 North, in the direction of the Otish Mountains, approximately 250 kilometres to the northeast of Albanel Lake.
The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency administers the federal environmental assessment process, which identifies the environmental effects of proposed projects and measures to address those effects, in support of sustainable development.
