Ottawa, Ontario, April 11, 2012—The Honourable Lisa Raitt, Canada’s Labour Minister, today congratulated OC Transpo and the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU), Local 279, for successfully reaching a collective agreement.
“I commend both OC Transpo and ATU for working closely together to reach a new collective agreement,” said Minister Raitt. “Strong labour‑management relations benefit the economic prosperity and security of Canadians.”
The new collective agreement replaces the previous agreement which expired onMarch 31, 2012. ATU Local 279 represents approximately 2,350 drivers, mechanics and maintenance employees.
