OTTAWA- Canadian Forces Military Police charged a Master Corporal from CFB Edmonton this week for offences related to child pornography.
MCpl Clayton Holloway now faces the following charges:
- one count of possession of child pornography, contrary to Section 130 of the National Defence Act, pursuant to Section 163.1(4) of the Criminal Code of Canada;
- one count of accessing child pornography, contrary to Section 130 of the National Defence Act, pursuant to Section 163.1(4.1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
The alleged material was discovered on the member’s personal computer while he was serving on deployment in Afghanistan. Once made aware of the allegations, his chain of command immediately repatriated him back to Canada.
The case will now proceed through the military justice system.
“The possession of child pornography is illegal and unacceptable,” said Lieutenant-Colonel Robert Delaney, Commanding Officer of the Canadian Forces National Investigation Service. “These are serious crimes and any incidents of this nature involving CF members, DND employees, or that occur on Defence establishments will be investigated to the fullest extent.”
