Fort St. John, B.C. — On behalf of the Honourable Steven Blaney, Minister of Veterans Affairs, Bob Zimmer, Member of Parliament for Prince George–Peace River, joined members of the Fort St. John Mess Committee to honour and thank Veterans and other local citizens who have made a difference in the community.
“The Fort St. John Mess Committee has played a leading role in recognizing our honoured Veterans and local heroes,” said Minister Blaney. “Our Government is proud to honour both our Veterans and our service men and women who defend our values of peace, freedom, democracy and the rule of law around the world.”
“It is a privilege to be here this evening to get to know, and to be inspired by, the men and women who work so hard to make a difference in the lives of our Veterans,” said MP Zimmer. “Our Government acknowledges the local heroes who truly make a difference here in Fort St. John and in communities across Canada.”
The annual Heroes Mess Dinner is organized by the Fort St. John Mess Committee to honour and thank those who have made a difference in the community, including Veterans, members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, members of the Canadian Forces, firefighters, scout leaders and cadet instructors.
Our Government is committed to providing Veterans, members of the Canadian Armed Forces and of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and their families with the support they need, when they need it.
