Today's announcement of $1.2 million includes the following 16 clean energy projects:
- Cayoose Creek First Nation: $50,000 for the Cayoose Creek microhydro project feasibility study.
- Gitga'at community of Hartley Bay: $100,000 for a feasibility study of a 900 kW hydro project in the Gabion watershed.
- Haida Nation: $60,000 to support a biomass energy conversion feasibility and sizing study for Haida Gwaii.
- Huu-ay-aht First Nation: $113,813 for the Sarita River, run-of-river hydro project Phase 1.
- In-SHUCK-ch Nation: $37,000 for the In-SHUCK-ch Development Corp to implement a clean energy initiative.
- Kwadacha Nation: $100,000 to implement the Kwadacha Health and Community Building geothermal system.
- Laxgalts'ap Village Government: $95,765 to install geothermal energy at the Laxgalts'ap Community Centre.
- Lil'wat Nation: $86,000 for a feasibility study of the Wedge Creek run-of-river hydro project.
- Lower Kootenay Indian Band: $25,000 to assess alternative clean energy options.
- Simpcw First Nation: $60,000 to study the feasibility of a small creek run-of-river micro-hydro project.
- Sliammon First Nation: $106,000 to continue the Freda Creek hydro project.
- St. Mary's Indian Band: $98,000 to install a biomass energy heating system.
- Sts'ailes (Chehalis) Band: $150,000 to implement the Trio Creek hydro project.
- Tsay Keh Dene Band: $150,000 to implement a new Tsay Keh Dene Village biomass energy system.
- West Moberly First Nations: $63,500 to implement a geothermal energy project.
- Xeni Gwet'in First Nation: $72,000 towards the Xeni Gwet'in community building energy efficiency upgrade and solar-propane hybrid power installation.
