Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced today the following changes in the senior ranks of the Public Service:
John Knubley, currently Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, becomes Deputy Minister of Industry, effective September 17, 2012.
Suzanne Vinet, currently President of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, becomes Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, effective September 17, 2012.
Daphne Meredith, currently Chief Human Resources Officer, becomes Deputy Minister of Western Economic Diversification, effective September 4, 2012.
Daniel Watson, currently Deputy Minister of Western Economic Diversification, becomes Chief Human Resources Officer, effective September 4, 2012.
Paul Rochon, currently Associate Deputy Minister of Finance, becomes Associate Deputy Minister of Health and concurrently Special Advisor to the Minister of Finance on negotiations for a Canadian securities regulator, effective August 7, 2012.
The Prime Minister took the opportunity to thank Richard Dicerni, Deputy Minister of Industry, who will retire from the Public Service on July 30, 2012. Mr. Dicerni’s distinguished career was marked by outstanding contributions to the Public Service and excellence in representing Canada and serving Canadians. The Prime Minister wished him the very best in his future endeavours.
