OTTAWA—Her Excellency Sharon Johnston will host an event at Rideau Hall in honour of The Royal’s philanthropic program Women for Mental Health, on Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at 2 p.m.
In her speech, Her Excellency will acknowledge Women for Mental Health for its relentless work in raising awareness of mental health. She will thank its members for their devotion, determination and passion, but also for their vision of further opening the dialogue on mental health issues.
Dr. Alison Freeland, Associate Chief of Psychiatry at The Royal, will also speak about patient care and research supported by the Women for Mental Health initiative. In addition, the attendees will hear some personal perspectives from an individual living with a mental illness.
