”
A federal investment of over $100,000 will go towards the installation of field lighting, which will greatly increase the number of games that can be scheduled at the club. In addition, exterior upgrades, including window replacement, will be made to the clubhouse
“The Transcona Nationals Football Club is very grateful for this opportunity to develop our football club with the addition of new field lighting,
” said Cori Knapp, President of the Transcona Nationals Football Club. “The field lighting will allow us to offer safer practice times to our young athletes and enhance the development of all Minor and Midget football, by scheduling evening games during the season and allowing quality practice space for both the under 16 and under 18 provincial programs.
”
CIIF supports, on a cost-shared basis, repairs and improvements to existing community infrastructure accessible to the public. Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD) is delivering the Fund in Western Canada with an allocation of $46.2 million over two years.
Since 2006, the Harper Government, through WD, has invested in job-creating, small- and medium-sized businesses, aerospace, marine and defence industries, and supported innovative entrepreneurs in pursuing emerging markets. By continuing to promote new economic opportunities, WD is helping to create jobs, economic growth, and long-term prosperity.
