Ottawa – The Honourable Tony Clement, President of the Treasury Board, today tabled the annual Reports on Plans and Priorities in the House of Commons with the addition of an important new feature that provides Parliamentarians and Canadians with more information and analysis of the Government's program spending.
The 2013–14 Reports on Plans and Priorities are presented on behalf of 93 government departments and agencies. They explain the funding requirements outlined in the 2013–14 Main Estimates, tabled in February 2013. They provide details over a three-year period on an organization's main priorities by strategic outcomes, programs and planned or expected results, including links to related resource requirements presented in the Main Estimates.
The changes made to this year's reports reflect the Government's commitments in response to the Seventh Report of the Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates. The reports will now include financial information by program for three previous fiscal years, and for the next three years; along with a trend analysis and an explanation of any significant spending changes. The reports also now provide a hyperlink to the annual Tax Expenditures and Evaluations report of the Department of Finance.
All reports and supporting documents are accessible on the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat website.
