Prime Minister Stephen Harper met today with Sebastián Piñera Echenique, President of the Republic of Chile in Cali, Colombia on the margins of the Pacific Alliance Summit.
The discussion focussed on the progress of the Pacific Alliance, of which Chile is a founding member. The Prime Minister commended the President for his and other members' leadership with the initiative and indicated how pleased he was to attend his first Summit.
The Leaders also took time to review the agenda for the President's upcoming state visit to Canada on May 30 and 31. The Prime Minister underscored the importance of the growing Canada-Chile bilateral relationship and highlighted, in particular, the significance of trade and investment ties.
