In accordance with the Government of Canada’s new web standards and accompanying common look and feel, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) has updated its website. This redesign brings SSHRC into compliance with the standards, which emphasize four key elements: mobile device compatibility, interoperability, usability and accessibility.
Core changes to the site include:
- a common background, header and footer on all pages, including a shared horizontal navigation bar and standardized “Government of Canada” signature;
- search results that include all Government of Canada sites in addition to the SSHRC site; and
- a responsive design that adapts how content is displayed, depending on the platform (e.g., browsers on desktop, tablet or smartphone).
Please note that content on the updated SSHRC website—including program descriptions, funding priorities and application deadlines—remains consistent with information on the former site.
