YELLOWKNIFE, N.W.T.– Media are invited to attend the Whitehorse scenario of Operation NANOOK 2013, in the vicinity of Whitehorse, Yukon, taking place August 5 – 10, 2013.
This will provide the media an excellent opportunity to see members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) support a Yukon government civil assistance exercise. Scheduling of media visits will be adapted to individual journalists’ objectives and availability where possible.
The Whitehorse scenario will employ CAF personnel in the air and on land as they provide support to territorial and municipal authorities during a disaster relief operation involving a fictional wildfire in the vicinity of Whitehorse.
Please note that media representatives must make their own travel arrangements to and from Whitehorse. While in Whitehorse, media will be embedded with CAF personnel.
