OTTAWA - Lieutenant-General Peter Devlin will transfer Command of the Canadian Army to Lieutenant-General Marquis Hainse in an official ceremony on Parliament Hill on July 18, at 10:00 a.m.
General Tom Lawson, Chief of the Defence Staff, will preside over the ceremony which will be attended by the Honourable Rob Nicholson, Minister of National Defence. Lieutenant-General Hainse is the former Deputy Commander of Allied Joint Force Command Naples. Lieutenant-General Devlin is retiring after more than 35 years of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Armed Forces.
